In 1994, 10 strong women paved the path for Asian Sororities on the East Coast. On March 23, 1994 Sigma Psi Zeta was founded here at the University at Albany. Since their legacy began, our organization just kept growing more and more and 23 years later here we are, spanning across the United States. During this time we've gained an enormous amount of sisters as well as the accompanying sisterhood. This week we got to showcase what we're here for through educating others about our philanthropy, to combat violence against women in all its varied forms.

On Monday we had our Spot A Sigma Event. A social media campaign in which we took pictures with people in exchange for a fact about Domestic Violence. To whoever got the most likes, they won a gift card. We had a lot of support from other members of the Greek Community such as the brothers of Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity, Inc. and Nu Alpha Phi Fraternity, Inc. as seen in the pictures below. Our winner was Jeff Pil from Nu Alpha Phi Fraternity, Inc so congratulations and thanks for being able to share our facts on domestic violence to so many people!

For Day two of our Founder's Week celebration we had a collaborative program with a student who works at Equinox Women's Shelter, whom we donate money to every semester. Therese "REFLEX" Palmere gave an interactive program with many facts about Domestic Violence. We had a great turnout and everyone had a lot of fun during the program.

'On Wednesday we tabled in the Campus Center in order to promote Domestic Violence Awareness with a mark sisters would draw on your hand in support for combating sex trafficking. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us!

For our last and most important day, our Founding Date, we had another program to wrap up the week about women in a patriarchal society. We also had help from Awake Chocolate, who helped sponsor us for the event. I'd like to give a huge thank you for the great turnout we had and for all the support this week! Happy Founder's Week everyone!
